a TIE for my little GUY

Wednesday night I stayed up late making this .......

a little TIE for my little guy! --- Isn't it sweet??
It's so little and I just can't wait to see my little man dressed up for church in it. It was a pretty shoddy sewing job, but for my first attempt at sewing I'm pretty dang proud of it! I got a sewing machine from my parents for graduation (BEST gift -- thanks mom & dad) and am excited to start attempting to be crafty.

Had to put the little tie on a little shirt Brian's mom picked out for Baby B.

I found the tie pattern on the makeit-loveit.com blog.

The Move

Well on May 3rd my boys and I are moving to Austin, Texas.

Brian accepted a job from Black & Decker several months ago and was told that he would be told his location much closer to his graduation date. Well, here we are, two weeks away from graduation and we now know we are soon going to be proud citizens of Texas.We hear from MANY people that it is such a wonderful place to live.

I am experiencing a wave of emotions.
1. I am SO excited to be starting this adventure with Brian!
2. I am realizing that I am scared to death to not be surrounded by our family.
3. We've just started to really make some good friends in our ward and so it's hard to think of starting all over with that.
4. I am SO excited to think about becoming a mom this summer and the opportunity I will have to be at home with my son ... but I am a girl that has always overloaded myself with work, school, extracurricular activities, and friends. I am scared to death to be at home all day. I know the value of having a mom stay at home with her children -- my mom did this when I was young and I couldn't have imagined it being any better. I'm just not sure how good I will be at "staying at home".
5. Stress! Trying to complete my senior capstone, other papers, moving logistics, the growing thing inside me :), etc. is stressing me out!

Anyways, I thought it was time to make the announcement.

Girls Night Out

When the boys go to Priesthood Session it's tradition to have a girls night. Melissa, Christine, and I (plus Melissa's kiddos) went to JoAnn's to pick out fabric for baby blankets. Then met the boys for dinner. We had lots of fun!!

While we were there I ran into some of my best friends from high school ... Emily Iva & Mallory. It was soo fun to see them!

Week 25 day 5 ...

Nephew!

This is our nephew PARKER TAFT JOHNSON.
He came yesterday ... 5 weeks early. He's doing pretty darn well for being that early. His mom is recovering well from a fast delivery that left her a little beat up.
We love him already and are so excited he's here.
Carrie and Taft live in Germany so we don't know when we'll get to meet him, but we're glad for his safe arrival.

~~~~~
We also found out yesterday that Devin & Jill are expecting a little girl one month after our little guy comes!!
Yes that makes a new nephew yesterday from Carrie & Taft, our little man in July, Jarem & Camilla's baby boy in July, and a little girl from Devin & Jill in August. WOW!!! Baby overload for the Davis' family and Hallows' family!
Belly Shots
It's not easy to take a full body picture of yourself ... this was my best attempt. I tried a million times and ended up laughing my head at how pathetic it really was.
I feel like this picture doesn't do it justice though ... I think my belly is huge! I LOVE IT! My sister in law just posted some belly shots and said something like "I am so in love with my baby bump" -- I couldn't agree more.
Baby B kicks like crazy now. When I can't sleep at night because I'm up going to the bathroom for the 8th time I just talk to him cuz he's usually awake and kickin away.
This is 23 weeks 5 days ... I'm now 24 weeks 5days.
St. Patty's Day
I went all out for St. Patty's Day this year ....
I debated whether or not to post this picture because
it looks so disgusting. These are
German/Swedish/Pop-Eye/Whatever-you-call-them-in-your-house Pancakes. We LOVE them.
They puff up in the oven when they bake. I like to sprinkle cinnamon on mine ... thus the brown stuff all over the pancakes that makes it look so gross. I colored the milk green too. Brian couldn't finish his breakfast ... I think he was grossed out.
Going through pictures
Here are pictures of some of the fun adventures I've been on since I joined the Davis family. We love doing stuff as a family!
Enchanted Night --- March 2008
Carrie & I were invited to the prem
ier of Enchanted. We wore our princess gowns and convinced our nieces that we arrived in a horse drawn carriage.
The Sweet Retreat --- Summer 2009
The Davis girls (minus Carrie) and the Mecham sistas spent a fabulous day
and night shopping, laughing, painting nails, and jumping on beds in Park City.
New Years Eve --- December 2009
Tradition: Chinese food at lun
ch.
Later that night we partied
at Melissa and Joels!
Birthday Parties
We ALWAYS get together for birthdays.
Picture: Some of the fam at my 22nd this year.
Christine's concerts
We usually go to dinner or dessert after.
Second official Davis Family Reunion ---
Summer 2009
We all traveled to Logan to stay at Devin and Jill's house. We saw Annie Oakley - the most amazing play, NOT! Went jet skiing, tubing, sunbathing. Played Mario Kart on the Wii. Ate lots of fruit.
Pushed the green
box out of the sand. Laughed a lot.
Devin never ceases to amaze me.
Halloween --- October 31st Every Year
The Staheli's always come to visit and trick-or-treat at our house. We love to see their costumes.
Carrie & Taft's Wedding --- July 2008
I met Taft this day. He's a pretty solid guy from what I know. He makes Carrie very happy and I am still getting to know more good things about him all the time. They moved to Germany just a couple weeks after they got married .. so we haven't spent much time yet with him.
I love our pictures from the wedding. I just LOVE the one of me and Christian (our nephew. I also love our family picture because it has EVERYONE in it!
1st Annual Davis Reunion ... Seven Peaks --- Summer 2008
Christine went down the freefall. We drank lots of Snapples - thanks Britt. Some of us got sunburned. We soaked up the sun and enjoyed being with each other.
The End
3/8/10
Thursday, Friday and Saturday I went on a snowmobiling trip with the treatment center I am interning at. We had a really great time and had some awesome experiences. I went snowmobiling very little and took it easy when I did go, but I still enjoyed playing in the snow and playing games with the girls and staff. Our chef from the school came up with us too -- so we had great food all weekend.
I was sad to miss Brian's birthday on Thursday. I got up extra early before leaving for my trip and made him Fried French Toast. It's REALLY healthy and exactly what I should be eating while I'm trying to watch my fat intake. Then Saturday night we went to Red Lobster to really celebrate. He wanted a shrimp platter for his birthday ... so that's what he got. I opted for a non sea swimming dinner. It was a fun night!
A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!
I took pictures of the pictures the Dr. gave us so that I could post them for my mom & dad. Sorry they are so fuzzy!
I attempted to label some things ... hopefully it helps.
So he is laying down here on his back (left side of pic) with his legs up in the air (right side of pic) and his little goods just hanging out there in the middle.
This one takes a minute to figure out ... He is facing you with his right arm up against the side of his face. You can see his right eye and his nose, but the umbilical cord is covering his left eye.
Just a handsome profile shot.
I love this little boy so much.
Ultrasound ... Tomorrow
Our niece Ashlyn (above)decided that ....
if the baby is a boy his name should be
BABY TRANSFORMER
if the baby is a girl her name should be
BABY BALLERINA
We find out the sex tomorrow
I can't wait ... probably won't sleep tonight.
Our other niece Sofie is qualified to do the ultrasound herself ... here she is "checking her baby".
DAD
We have lot's of friends & family that follow our blog & read about our lives... but 1 of my favorite followers is my dad. I just wanted to post a shout out to him.
My dad is an incredible man! He is one of the hardest working people I have ever known. He is also one of the most intelligent people I know. He can figure out how to make or build or wire anything if you give him a few minutes. He is very creative and loves to design things like landscapes and BBQ islands and tile works (like his amazing shower). He is an excellent cook and enjoys concocting new recipes .. some of my favorites are squasage (a corn, squash, and sausage mixture) and various marinades for steak and chicken. My dad is also very entertaining .. he is a really great storyteller. For as long as I can remember I've seen my dad reading his scriptures in the morning everyday. He loves the Gospel and never hesitates to let you know that. When us kids were little we would "frazzle" with my dad, basically a tag-team family wrestling match. He may be 48, but he still gets down and frazzles with Reedo.
Dad I love you and can't wait to see you for Christmas!
